Vancouver food trucks are best culinary treats city has to offer
Fifteen new Vancouver food trucks will grace streets this summer in select locations that include the Olympic Village Skytrain Station, Abbott Street near Rogers Arena and Victory Square across from Vancouver Community College.
A total of 114 stationary Vancouver food trucks will whet the public’s appetite for good food on the go with quick delicacies ranging from Belgian waffles, Filipino fusion to French crepes and pastries.
“Our street food vendors are gaining international accolades, and this year’s additions are enlivening our streets with even more diverse flavours,” says Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson.
Travel and Escape Digital Magazine recently rated Vancouver food trucks vendors as the third best in all of North America.

“Vancouver’s street food program continues to grow, showcasing some of the best culinary talent in our city,” shares Robertson. “Our street food vendors are gaining international accolades, and this year’s additions are enlivening our streets with even more diverse flavours.”
Vendors this year are embarking on a new ‘pod’ concept where each group of Vancouver food trucks will locate themselves in the same spot in order to widen the variety of food available in every particular location.
Up to 29 vendors applied for the 15 new stationary permits this year, each having to go through a panel of four experts from small business and the food industry, and Vancouver’s Engineering Department and Coastal Health.
“Since we expanded the program to provide more nutritious and ethnically diverse food in 2010, foodies from around the region and many of our international visitors have given the program rave reviews,” said Robertson.
